not so far away from home

SATURDAY FINALLY ARRIVED. this was the day i had the most busy schedule of things i actually wanted to see and had done research on. but bleh, the day started off with Hatebreed. it was okay. but i had troubles standing up during the course of that one.

Arena was crowded with mainly slightly tacky and stereotypical elderly men with ponytails and jackets and t-shirts and whatnot with bandnames they had been sawing onto them. yeah. total bonanza.

after that struggle, we went to chill for a bit. i guess i tried watching Efterklang at Arena at some point during that time but i don't remember too well. i think i left to go see something else instead.
yeah, i did. Goatwhore for fuck sake. oh my bloody god. it was delightful! how they almost made us deaf and everything<3 a="" awesome="" band="" blast="" did="" have="" i="" no="" p="" really="" seriously="">

look! LOOK AT HOW ENTERTAINED HE IS.

we nodded in agreement when the band went off the stage and kind of took a collective sigh of relief. sort of. before heading back to camp shitfaced to get some supplies.

i stressed back to the area again to see the national. from this point on i was alone the rest of the day and night. it was brilliant! just what i need when i want to rightfully enjoy and absorb a concert.

but. the national. it became one of my highlights from this year. i don't know why, but there's something about a band when the lead singer is the most depressed and sort of desperate human being on earth. he's for sure an alcoholic, downing a shit ton of wine during the performance and becoming totally unpredictable. and yes, i can relate to that.
people were a bit half-assed as the concert went on and kept leaving, so i got a really nice spot at the back of Orange. the sun was setting, the band played well, i guess i shed a tear at some point since it was tempting to just go into frenzy-mode alongside the lead singer. he jumped off the stage and did two songs while running around in the audience and almost choking them with the microphone-cord.

then i had to RUN to reach the next concert at Pavillion.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

it was an incredibly danceable concert! first thing i did was to just plow my way into the audience. see a guy lighting up a J, headed straight for him, poked and toked and danced like crazy. even though i was originally really tired that day. it went away as the sun came down and i got a good concert into the system, got to spend time alone (YEAH) and just doing my thing without anyone interrupting.
he struggled a bit with his voice, but otherwise this also was one of my highlights. the drummer was CRAZY skilled and they dozed off into deep jamsessions that was so fucking delicious. i loved it.

and danced. <3 p="">
then! metallica went on the Orange stage. i walked around peacefully and looked for halfeaten food that had been abandoned. i got a free beer and some swedish meatballs. win.

enjoyed metallica from afar. but i have no relationship with the band and knew they would be playing for hours on end so i went to arena to see sigur ros instead and my oh fucking my, what an experience!! must be one of the best live-bands out there.
such a clean, spotless performance. and when they went from ethereal to total chaos you just stood there with your mouth and heart open, torn apart.

afterwards, they were actually clapped back on stage three times. they were so humble as well. and Arena was jam-packed with people. i had trouble finding a good spot. but i am so thankful i chose to see them, even though i didn't expect too much on beforehand.

this saturday ended with an early morning concert at Odeon. Uncle acid & the deadbeats. it was a lot of fun watching what kind of people stayed up until three-four in the morning to see stoner-rock.
a LOT of weirdos. lovely! and the band was totally fucking awesome! i was glad i managed to stay up so late. the sun even started to rise slowly during the concert.

then i just headed for the tents at five in the morning, in total bliss<3 alone="" and="" content="" day="" in="" most="" nbsp="" of="" p="" so="" solace.="" some="" sort="" spending="" the="" with="">
