now it's time for a long dead dinosaur to have some words spoken for it's traditional justice

Deinonychus


is the dinosaur i remember the bestest from my childgrowinguphood.
i here present some of the most epic pictures, straight from the interwebs, so you won't have to google it and go through a lot of trouble.

he was first discovered in 1930 by Barnum Brown, but he didn't give this bony creature any name. that task fell upon John Ostrom, he was the first to describe this species in the 1960s.
Deinonychus translates to "forferdelig klo" due to it's insane 2nd claw on both feet which is found to be 12 cm long, and they suspected him to weigh about 75 kilos and measured 3-3,3 meters from tip to tip and 1,8 m in hight.
they've been digging him out from places in northern america mostly, and they believed he hunted in the same manner as wolves do. this theory was presented by Ostrom and it shocked the whole science-world at the time because this actually meant the dinosaurs were in posessoin of a larger-than-walnut brain and some very well developed flock-behavior that only intelligence could provide.

he also claimed most dinosaurs could regulate their own bodytemprature and that they were close relatives to birds. most scientists believed this man.

deinonychus saw his best days in the middle of kritt, some 110 million years ago.


he'''''''''''s also a close relative to the dreaded velociraptor, that o so clever little dinosaur from Jurassic Park. in the movie they based this cool figure mainly on deinonychus, but neither lived in the jura-period. woho!..
