i am shocked
even at age 36
my sister still manages to say this:
"youknow, your sisterin-law (working in a petshop, so she does) tells me they sell rats and mice at the petshop that those who buy uses to feed their snakes!! that's disgusting and unneccessary! poor animals"
i reply "why do you think so? the snake's got to eat"
she answers "well yeah, but can't they, like, feed them beef or something?"
and i, of course, say (omged and all)
"do you think it's better to feed them beef? you know, that's an animal too, who died unneccessary and probably led an even worse life than the mouse. i honestly can't see any difference"
then she gets all
"uhm, well, duuuuuh....... maybe you're right"
this scares me

i can't even collect the sense to ask "WHY is it like this?"
